Did you know there are several different kinds of Facebook ads? Traditional Facebook ads appear on the sidebar. On the other hand, boosted posts appear in the user’s News Feed. This is a critical difference. So, which should you choose and why? Is there a good strategy to keep in mind for using them in different scenarios?

I think one thing worth noting is that boosted posts can be share focused as much as call to action focused. I ran a campaign where we A/B tested share vs call to action focus boosted posts and we got more reach via the sharable posts. It sort of depends on the outcome you are looking for. But yeah, definitely no trad FB ads.
Hey Matt! Yep, definitely agree with you on “depends on the outcome you are looking for”… I’m hoping to clarify the potential of great content, wherever you put it. In this case, paid reach on Facebook via boosted posts can really be great. What bugs me is the prototypical situation where marketing executive X says Facebook ads don’t work when really they lacked a good content strategy.

Yup, all about value, throw away content that is “old school SEO” rich no longer works. Needs to actually be useful, how crazy.
